Tunes of 2006: Bruce Springsteen

Haven't really gotten into much of what Bruce was putting out the last couple of years, but I've really taken to his big folk band tribute to Pete Seeger, We Shall Overcome (iTunes | Amazon). There was some discontent on the Left after its initial release that the album's material wasn't political enough, but it's a rollicking good time that really brings an American musical icon back into view. That said, Springsteen re-released the album as "The American Land Edition" and added a couple songs that have a more pointed political message, including what should be the rallying cry of 2007--"Bring 'Em Home."
