Race to the Bottom
The news networks

In researching for this blog (I have all the enthusiam of a novice) I noticed some of the incredibly lame articles on the news networks. Here is my list of favorites.

MSNBC: "Tyra Banks proves her breasts are real"

CNN: "Airliner fakes emergency so passengers can watch soccer game"

FOX: "Vulgar Vegetation" (which describes a lawn mowing pattern honoring Cheney's immortal suggestion to Leahy)

Which brings me to some of the quotes from the networks.

CNN: "At a concert last night at Madison Square Garden, Bette Midler invoked a word used by Vice President Cheney when she talked about receiving a "thank you for your support" letter from the President - she said she returned it with a note saying "go [Cheney's word] yourself".

MSNBC: Chris Matthews on Katrina, "The Bush Administration promised to bring democracy to Baghdad and succeeded in bringing Baghdad to the United States."

FOX: O'Reilly (of course), "I just wish Katrina had only hit the United Nations building, nothing else. Just flooded them out. And I wouldn't have rescued them."

Then my husband came home and reported what he had heard on Rush (we listen sometimes to get a cardiac workout) . Rush is claiming that liberals are hoping Rita hits Crawford and levels the Bush ranch. What kind of mind even thinks such thoughts. Oh, that's right, its the same man who still asserts that Hillary had Vince Foster murdered in Fort Marcy Park.

On the September 19 broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show, Limbaugh claimed that after anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan criticized Sen. Clinton for her support of the Iraq war, "Somebody has gotten to [Sheehan] and said, 'Do the words 'Fort Marcy Park' mean anything to you?' I will guarantee you, my friends, that by the time all is said and done -- if she calls [Clinton] out one more time -- that's it for Cindy Sheehan."
