More Than The World Cup is Happening

The Carolina Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup

Although my son-in-law Agen believes that there is nothing else going on but the World Cup games, I have to point out that my hometown has captured the Stanley Cup by winning the NHL championship in hockey. It made the front page of the online Washington Post, so I guess I'm not the only one that thinks it's newsworthy.

Unfortunately, most of the national coverage is still using terms like Tobacco Road and NASCAR country to describe Raleigh. At least this time no one mentioned Mayberry.
