Super Furry
No, this post isn't about John Bolton. Just found out that Super Furry Animals (one of my Four Pillars of Pop Perfection--the others being My Friend the Chocolate Cake, Neil Finn, and Paul Weller)--will be releasing their new album, Love Kraft, in mid-September; via Billboard:

Welsh rock act the Super Furry Animals will release its seventh album, "Love Kraft," Sept. 13 in North America via XL Recordings/Beggars Group. Internationally, the set will be released Aug. 22 and preceded on Aug. 8 by the single "Lazer Beam."

"Love Kraft" was recorded in Spain with Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys) and features more songwriting collaborations between band members than on prior efforts. String arrangements were handled by the High Llamas' Sean O'Hagan, and 100-member Catalan choir even turns up for an appearance.

They'll be joining the ModFather (that's Mr. Weller) in releasing something new this year.

Speaking of tunes, I swear I'll change the album of the month--I've just run into a very busy patch of work--and note some of the things I picked up while in Paris on my honeymoon real soon.
