Goldarn Obstructionist Democrats!
Why can't they just play nice (translation: roll over and play dead) and let President Bush have his nominee to the United Nations, Mr. Moustache, get approved. It's the Democrats' fault (oh, and that doofus Republican Voinovich), always "moving the goal posts" and continually asking for the White House to release documents about Mr. Moustache's on-the-job conduct. Can you believe the nerve? Neither can Senator Trent Lott, from this MP3 sound bite courtesy of Think Progress:

There are a lot of cases when executive privilege applies. There are a lot of cases when classified material can put people's lives at risk. Neither of those really apply here. So, if it were my call, I would sit down with Chris Dodd and [garbled, unintelligible Southern accent] you tell me exactly what you want. I'd get it to him before sunrise, and we'd have the vote tomorrow.

I wonder what Senator Lott's feelings are on the Valerie Plame case (she being the wife of Joseph Wilson who was outed as a CIA agent by Robert Novak after he received intel about her from somewhere inside the White House). Oh well, we'll never get around to solving that case anyway.
