My Post-Election Playlist
I needed to put a smile on my face somehow after the Kerry concession speech, so I created a CD playlist that reflected some of my feelings, running from grief to anger to confusion to hopefulness. I tried to upload to Apple's iTunes store, but (as I suspected) only a few songs made it into an iMix due to not being within the Apple library or the fact that they're imported (i.e., Butch Cassidy Soundsystem). But here are the tunes:

  1. Sentimental Walk - Vladimir Cosma (from the Diva soundtrack)
  2. Broken Hearts for You and Me - Trio
  3. Crosseyed and Painless - Talking Heads
  4. Express Yourself - NWA
  5. Brothers and Sisters - Butch Cassidy Soundsystem
  6. People Power in the Disco Hour - Clinton
  7. Me and Jesus Don't Talk No More - Beulah
  8. Palm of Your Hand - Cake
  9. The Everlasting - Manic Street Preachers
  10. Smile - Elvis Costello
  11. You Get What You Give - New Radicals
  12. Tom Petty Loves Veruca Salt - Terrorvision (has nothing to do with either Tom Petty or Veruca Salt, but is an understated rallying the troops kinda tune)
  13. Don't Give Up - Chicane
  14. Can You Hear Us - Neil Finn (written for the New Zealand national rugby team, but it's hopefulness is universal)
  15. All These Things - Killers
  16. The Revolution Starts Now - Steve Earle
  17. Political Science - Randy Newman
