My God, Has It Really Been 15 Years?

From Billboard:
Matthew Sweet's 1991 breakthrough album, "Girlfriend," will be reissued in an expanded edition June 13 via Volcano/Legacy. The new version boasts a second disc dubbed "Goodfriend," featuring demos, live tracks and radio sessions from the era.
I'm starting to feel old. Mrs. F is out tonight, and I think I'll put this on loud while she's away.

[PS] I started it up before Mrs. F hit the door, and she turned to me and asked, "Is this what you were going to turn up loud?" OK, so maybe only the power-cord heavy title song is worthy of rocking out for my wife (and just barely... what does she want, Sabbath?), but it holds up very nicely. It was, for me, the quintessential white-boy/Gen-X album full of angsty, navel-gazing introspection and wonder over what the hell came next. It's also, at its heart, a great getting-over-a-breakup album (something I felt viscerally when it came out, even though I was in a relationship--though one that I knew deep down was doomed). I still wonder what the hell might come next, but I'm not so angsty about it. And I've got a the greatest girlfriend in Mrs. F.
