It's a Little Early for Friday Cat Blogging...

...but I couldn't resist as I got our new camera today. Yepp, I finally pulled the trigger on the orange version of the Casio EX-S600 (purchased at a very nice price from Beach Camera, and delivered ahead of schedule--a nice transaction through and through). Below is our youngest cat, Nip (follow the link to see a larger version at my Flickr "photostream"; if you're a Flickr member, you'll be able to see the full 2-megapixel photo).

Good colors (even on a very gray Seattle day) and details. While the EX-S600 can capture up to 6 megapixels, I'm guessing I'll be keeping things set between 2 and 3 MP for our basic snapshots. Also, just playing around with it for about 15 minutes this afternoon, I've found the menu system to be quickly understandable with very accessible controls, and the 2.2-inch LCD screen is wonderful. It's also frickin' small!
