It's a Blue Day
Arsenal 0 - Chelsea 2

At the start of the English Premier League season, I imagined it was going to be a year-long dogfight at the top between Chelsea and Arsenal, but the Arse has been woefully underwhelming this season--despite some of the most athletic players in the league. Perhaps they underestimated Patrick Viera's worth to the team when they let the midfielder go to Italy before the beginning of the season. In the lead-up to the crunched Festive weekends schedule (with two games surrounding each of Christmas day and New Years day), Chelsea pretty much ended any hope of Arsenal getting back into serious contention for the Premier League title (and frankly, seriously dampening hopes for a Champions League spot) with a 2-nil win at Arsenal's ground of Highbury (goals courtesy of the Flying Dutchman Arjen Robben, pictured above, and Joe Cole). Here's hoping Old Fogey's cable system offers pay-per-view soccer for next weekend during my impending visit...
