James Doohan--aka, Scotty on Star Trek--passed away yesterday. NPR has a really wonderful eulogy to him, which includes some of his greatest Star Trek lines and some interesting backstory--including the fact that he tried several different accents before settling on the Scottish brogue for Scotty.
