Hang On, Help Is on the Way
A couple of days ago, I asked for help in finding some good, substantive ways to support the troops engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan--and not a yellow ribbon magnet for my non-gas-guzzling car. My pal Jeff suggested sending Girl Scout Cookies, which the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York makes quite easy on their home page. Michael Moore's site also has a very good list of ideas, including donation of telephone calling cards and Books For Soldiers, where you will find a forum where active duty soldiers have posted requests for books and DVDs that you can purchase and send to them.
