The Race Is Tightening
The polls are whack--there are so many of them and they're so divergent, you can't get a read on what's really going on. But the majority are indeed showing a tightening of the race, erasing the "bounce" that Bush drew after the NYC 9/11 RNC. But do polls really matter? At this point in the race, I'd say they're meaningless. Typically, you really need to get through one or two debates to really see where the polls are heading. But this year, with so much riding on Iraq and other September/October surprises (i.e., memo-gate), it's gonna be hard to gauge where things are going.

But that's when you gotta have faith, and just keep pushing. Keep talking about how this administration has become a failure. Get out and volunteer for the DNC or America Coming Together or MoveOn. (Speaking of which, anyone in the Seattle area who wants to work as a MoveOn PAC volunteer, please contact me--use the comments section and I can try to get back to you if I don't know you--as we'll be volunteering as precinct leader in a get-out-the-vote campaign geared toward previously Democratic-leaning registered voters.) It's also important to let your wallets do the talking. I came across one of the best ads I've seen this election, which is going to air in the battleground states of Wisconsin and West Virginia. I'm putting my money where my blog is and contributing.
