I'm Hoping TiVo Can Rescue Me

From the sound of Old Fogey's post below, sounds like today's Russert interview with Ken "Talking Points Action Figure" Mehlman was hi-freakin'-larious. But the show also had Howard Dean on it, and from what Armando's post over at Daily Kos, sounds like he came off very well. Here's his wrap-up, but give the post a read for a full report.
Which leads to my final point - When Do Democrats Define Themselves? Dean gave the right answer - when the voters have a chance to make a choice for real change, in 2006. The Elections. The Democrats are doing what they are supposed to do right now - opposing a Republican agenda harmful to the country. And agreeing on those few occasions when the Republicans do the right thing. That is called being an opposition party. The time for offering alternatives is when the voters can choose that alternative for real change. And that is 2006.
Hopefully, I can snag a replay of the show via my TiVo. By the by, this brings up the TV subject. Awhile back, I noted that Mrs. F and I had rid ourselves of the evil demon television. Wellllll, that worked for about a month. And then I purchased a 27-inch Syntax Olevia LCD TV/monitor, which we're very happy with. We're not complete videophiles, so there are probably other LCD/plasma screens that do a better job. But an LCD TV at this size for this price--under $800--it does a very good job at handling DVD movies (with a component video connection) and as a monitor for my 12-inch PowerBook (which is another story, perhaps told later this coming week). It also produces pretty good sound via its two integrated speakers with very decent virtual surround sound capabilities. We're still going with the "sharecropper cable" (just the local stations, CSPAN, and CBC [which will be important for the upcoming winter Olympics--lotsa curling]), but I might upgrade to the HD box from Comcast for "testing purposes" (for my job doing online product content, of course).
