New Feature: Today's Spinner
Well, I'm finally back in my office full-time after not having a reliable 'net connection for the last two weeks. I recently moved into the West Seattle ActivSpace and was hoping to use the free wi-fi network that some other AS members were building out. Unfortunately, it was just too flaky for me and my needs--thus, I turned to the friendly folks at Speakeasy for some DSL. It got installed this morning, and I'm now enjoying a more concentrated work environment (though I do miss our cats, Wompus and Nip).

This big event also means that I'm back to listening to my LP collection alphabetically. Since moving into the space-constrained LemonDrop with Mrs. F, I've had to store my LPs away in the black hole of storage. But with the new office, I've set up my old Onkyo college stereo system (with some new speakers) and have started at the beginning. In a previous post, I noted that I'd already started out with Ace, Art of Noise, Asia, and Aztec Camera. Today, I've got one of Beausoleil's first albums, Bayou Boogie, which includes the studio version of "Zydeco Gris Gris," the opening titles song from the movie "The Big Easy." It's foot-stompin', good-time cajun/zydeco--something I don't get enough of these days (though, as I remember, you can OD on it at some point). More to come in the days and weeks ahead...
