Chickens!
Mrs. F and I went on the Seattle Tilth City Chickens Tour today in order to get some more ideas for our own coop. We've been talking about adding chickens to our backyard now for over a year and a half, and... well... we don't have a lot to show for it. We thought last year was going to be the year, but then a marriage proposal came up and took over our lives. I've been busy recently clearing out a corner of our backyard for our compost system (the Pooplet) to be prapared for the onslaught of waste from the eventual Cooplet, which we hope to build by the end of the summer. However, we need to make a big decision--do we go for chicks or start with mature, egg-laying chickens. If the former, then we'll wait till next spring. But by Spock's Beard, I will have a coop by the time the summer draws nigh.
