Do What You Can
I'm not working under any grand assumptions that my involvement will change the course of the election My great fear is that we will wake up on November 3, George Bush will have won and we will say, 'What more could we have done?'

It's getting down to the last 60 days. The Republican convention week got off to a great start today with several hundred thousand protesters filling the street.

And here's a note from Parie's Mom in Raleigh, NC:

Boy, am I pumped! John and I just got back from a Kerry volunteers meeting in Raleigh. There was barely standing room. The state media director said that if he had known so many would show up, he would have tried to get TV cameras in there.

They gave us some interesting statistics. By any rational reckoning of the electoral college, Bush has got to win NC to get reelected. Based on prior patterns, if Kerry can win by 15 points in the Triangle, he will carry the state. He is now ahead by 12 points here.

There are continuous voter registration drives at the area campuses, where Kerry has a strong lead in the polls among the students.

It would be so sweet to make NC blue!
