Amazing Race Begins Today
I've been waiting all summer for this, and it finally begins today:

On July 6th, 2 Teams of 2 people, each with a pre-existing relationship, will set out on THE AMAZING RACE around the country to compete for the highest office in the land. They'll never know where they're going next or what they'll have to do once there. Each pair's relationship will be forever changed by their experience in this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.


Let's meet the teams:

John Kerry, John Edwards
They started out as rivals, but they were able to come together and unite for the greater good. One's a little bit upper crust and goes wispy to the strains of the Grateful Dead, the other's a bit more down to earth and hums John Cougar Mellencamp whenever he can. Kerry is gunning for a position he's dreamed of since he was in high school and is driven to correct mistaken international military escapades, while Edwards was transformed by personal tragedy in the late '90s and is focused on economic social justice.

George Bush 43, Dick Cheney
One's recently become a movie star, while the other eschews the bright lights, preferring the down-home comforts of his undisclosed bunker locale. Their stars have been joined for years, since Dick helped George's Daddy in an adventure in Iraq back in the early 90s, and vowed to help the prodigal son finish the job--no matter the costs. Both desparately are trying to avoid being labeled as a One-Termer.
