SOPping Wet
I'm no longer depressed. I'm getting pissed. I'm not the only one, and it's certainly no longer partisan feeling--though there are some, like Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma, who are following the RNC handbook and trying to turn this issue around to question the "do-gooders" who are making such a fuss. It also seems that the "on message" message to convey from the Right is that this is nothing you wouldn't see on a college campus, which is still being pedaled around--this time by Oliver North on HANNITY and colmes. (This line was originally proffered by Rush Limbaugh; both are noted by Media Matters.)

And it's now affecting senior administration officials, as Talking Points Memo notes that the State Department (and Colin Powell) are leaking like sieves in regards to when they and others (i.e., the President and Secretary of Defense) were informed of the International Red Cross report on abuses.

It's also looking like this is SOP (standard operating procedure) for the CIA, based on this NYTimes report. And that the worst is still to come, based on last night's 60 Minutes II program (which I didn't get to see).
